Q. What can I expect from a non-local online health consultation?

If you live outside of Oregon (or the USA) and would like guidance about the naturopathic approach to treating an existing diagnosis, Dr. Farr can offer information about your work up, diagnosis, and treatment to-date, and educate you regarding available research regarding naturopathic treatment approaches. Dr. Farr cannot order labs or imaging, diagnose your condition, prescribe particular treatments, or in other ways act as your physician via these consults. These consults should be considered educational in nature only, and do not substitute for proper medical care. Anything discussed during these consults should first be reviewed by your medical team and implemented only if deemed safe and appropriate. Dr. Farr requires that all of his non-local online health consultation clients have an established relationship with a primary care doctor.

Q. How do I schedule and pay for the consult?

Scheduling initial consult is done after first talking Dr. Farr. Follow-ups can be scheduled online via this website. Consults are paid for at the time of scheduling.

Q. How much do non-local online consultations cost?

Distance consultations cannot be billed to Insurance or HSA accounts, as these are not medical services. While we cannot provide a super-bill, you can request an invoice. All consultations are paid for upon scheduling.

15 min / $80 (only available for return clients only)

30 min / $ 155

60 min / $315

Q. How to cancel or reschedule my consultations?

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact us at dawsonfarrnd@gmail.com There is a 48 hour cancellation policy. All non-local consultations can be rescheduled or cancelled within 48 hours before your visit. A $50 fee will be retained if cancellations or rescheduling requests are requested within 48 hours of your appointment time. No refund will be offered individuals who do not attend their scheduled appointment, or attempt to cancel before-hand. Please let us know if you have extenuating circumstances resulting in late cancellations or if you are not able to make your appointment -

Q. Can Dr. Farr be my doctor?

Dr. Farr cannot be your physician without seeing you in-person. If you are scheduling online consultations with Dr. Farr please keep in mind, he is not your doctor and therefore will not: write prescriptions, order labs, diagnose, write doctor’s notes/letters to 3rd parties, etc. This service is not billable to your health insurance provider. You should be informed that given that these consults are not considered medical care, this service is not covered by medical malpractice.

Q. Will Dr. Farr review my records prior to visits?

When scheduling a consult, you are reserving Dr. Farr’s time during that consult only. While he strives to be prepared for your consult, he cannot guarantee that he will be able to review extensive medical records prior to your scheduled time. You are responsible for uploading any records that you would like to have reviewed during the consult via the Charm portal.

Q. Can I contact Dr. Farr between visits for additional guidance or urgent questions or concerns?

As Dr. Farr is not your physician and cannot guarantee availability between visits to address any questions or concerns. If you are experiencing an urgent need, please contact your medical provider or go to urgent care. Questions that seek clarification about previously discussed topics are fine but any extensive or new questions will require you to schedule an additional consult. We suggest you schedule recurring consults in advance if you feel as though you may have additional questions, as Dr. Farr’s schedule can fill up quickly.
